Whether it’s talk therapy over a cup of tea, mindful meditation, movement on a yoga mat, or a walk through Waterloo Park, Jennifer's clinical practice encompasses complementary techniques to best support each client’s particular struggles and preferences. from her dad she learned the gift of giving the shirt off your back to help those in need, from her mom she learned the gift of an inquisitive mind for psychology and compassion for human behaviour, from her maternal grandmother - the gift of a listening ear, from her maternal grandfather - the gift of music, from her paternal grandfather - the gift of hard work, and from her paternal grandmother - the gift of calling a spade a spade. With values gifted to her at an early age from her parents and grandparents over "heaps of tea" and "dollops of love", Jennifer plants similar seeds for her clients. Jennifer soon learned that these synchronistic experiences could not be understood at an intellectual level as they were beyond the mind-made form. With a growing body of research supporting the benefits of yoga for mental health and emotional well-being, Jennifer completed yoga teacher training to help inform the coping strategies she was sharing with clients. Life soon came full circle as she found herself revisiting the healing potential of the mind-body connection. Jennifer had glimpses of these experiences throughout her twenties during guided meditation and in her thirties during moments of deep connection with her daughter.Īfter 20+ years of clinical work and research in community, school and hospital settings she noticed that something beyond talk therapy was needed to help her clients.
